Lagavulin 16 Year Old was first released in the early 1990s, and was originally intended to be a limited edition bottling. However, due to its popularity, Lagavulin 16 Year Old has become a permanent part of the Lagavulin range. 

The Islay representative in the 'Classic Malts' series is a deep, dry and exceptionally peaty bruiser. Probably the most pungent of all Islay malts, Lagavulin is not for the faint-hearted but inspires fanatical devotion in its many followers. 

One of the great classics from Islay. Remarkably balanced, with dry & assertive flavors offset by the sweetness of Sherry oak. Complex, full-bodied, smoky, peaty tastes combine with salty sea tang in this elegant yet powerful Single Malt.

The taste of dry peat smoke with strong maritime notes results in a complex dram that is complemented by a long, elegant finish. Distilled in Lagavulin, Scotland on the coast of Islay, centuries of local distilling excellence are what make our malts so unique. Our aging process in oak casks gives Lagavulin 16 Year Old the extraordinary and classic smoky flavor that demands to be served in a traditional whisky glass, neat or with a little water.

Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For added peace of mind, we offer shipping protection against loss or damage at checkout through OrderProtection.com.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
