Jehan Emonin Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes 2022
100 % Pinot Noir. Elegant and refined, Jehan Emonin wines showcase ripe orchard fruits, citrus, and a hint of almond. Silky on the palate with mineral depth and a long, balanced finish—a true Burgundy classic.
Jehan Emonin is the heart of Domaine Vincent Bouzereau’s portfolio, a label steeped in family heritage reaching back to the 16th century in Meursault. Named to honour Vincent Bouzereau’s grandfather, this label embodies the Bouzereau family’s dedication to quality winemaking through ten generations.
Today, Vincent oversees 24.7 acres of prized Côte de Beaune vineyards, with Meursault at its core. Each vine is sustainably farmed, pruned to encourage ideal airflow and ripeness, and handpicked only at peak maturity.
In the cellar, Vincent sticks to tradition: native yeast fermentation, refined aging, and a balanced use of oak—25-30% for village and Premier Cru, up to 50% for Grand Cru. Jehan Emonin wines are pure class, delivering elegance and balance with a nod to history and a taste that’s central to Burgundy’s finest.
Porusot (sometimes spelled "Poruzot" or "Le/s Porusot/s") is a Premier Cru vineyard of the Meursault appellation in Burgundy's Cote de Beaune sub-region. Located (like so many) on the midslope of the Côte d'Or escarpment, the vineyard enjoys a limestone-predominant terroir that is very well suited to the production of high-quality wines made from Chardonnay.
Porusot itself is divided into three lieu-dits: "Porusot Dessus" (the "upper Porusot") is a relatively thin strip of east-facing land running down the slope between Les Genevrières to the south and Les Bouchères to the northwest; "Le Porusot" is adjacent to the lower northeastern portion of the Dessus vineyard and runs along the slope, below Les Bouchères; "Porusots Dessous", the "lower" section, pushes out below the upper section into the village-level climat of Les Crotots on the lower slopes.
Critical Acclaim
90 James Suckling
Wild raspberries, chocolate biscuits and rosemary stems on the nose of this medium-bodied, fresh red. Savory and lightly salty on the palate, with crunchy tannins. Drink now.
