Glenfarclas Glenlivet 12 Year
91 proof 4/5 quart *(label reads 91 proof; period practice suggests this is Imperial proof, approximately 104 US proof / 52% ABV)*
Grant Bonding Co. bottling for Webster Imports
Elgin glass embossed Gordon and MacPhail
Late 1960s to 1970s US market
*See Bottle and condition section below for condition notes

A classic Speyside time capsule from the Grant Bonding era. Bottled and shipped in Elgin for Webster Imports of Beverly Hills, this pre-metric 4/5 quart shows the house style that made Glenfarclas a benchmark for sherried malt. The label states 91 proof. Given the period and export conventions, that figure is most likely Imperial proof, which corresponds to approximately 104 US proof at 52 percent ABV. The glass is embossed Gordon and MacPhail, consistent with mid-to-late 1960s onward Elgin packaging.

Provenance and era
Grant Bonding Co. handled official Glenfarclas bottlings from the mid 1960s through the 1970s. The non-metric 4/5 quart format, Webster importer credit, and Gordon Macphail embossed base place this in the late 1960s to 1970s window.

What to expect in the glass
Measured sherry over a sturdy Speyside core. Orange oil and dried apricot lead, with toasted almond, soft toffee, heather honey, and a clean malty finish. Serve neat in a tulip at cellar temperature. A few minutes of air and a touch of water will open the citrus and dried fruit.
