Hailing from Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico, Casa Dragones is a brand of premium tequila created by Bertha González Nieves - the first certified woman to be certified as a Maestra Tequilera by the Academia Mexicana de Catadores de Tequila. Known in the tequila scene for their quality over quantity approach to production, the brand currently offers only two expressions the first of which being Casa Dragones Joven, a splendid combination of Blanco and Extra-Anejo tequilas with the latter having been aged for at least 5 years in new American oak barrels.
After being blended, the resulting spirit is then charcoal-filtered to mellow its flavors and remove any traces of color, resulting in a clean, clear Joven tequila which opens up with a lively aroma of citrus, peppery spice, sandalwood, and sea salt before giving way to a velvety palate of poached pear, star fruit, vanilla, and spiced cake, culminating in a warming finish with a dash of nuttiness.
