We pack Blanton's very very well, but due to the high proof, large cork & stopper, and very thin wax, bottles can leak and wax can crack due to movement or temperature changes- No claim can be lodged against cap & seal failure/leakage in transit.

In the nose a very harmonious combination of fine milk chocolate, almonds, dried apricots and a little mint. Everything is perfectly coordinated and works wonderfully harmonious. The palate is oily and full with luscious fruit notes apricots, orange peel, raisins. In addition, flavors of milk chocolate, almonds and herbal notes rosemary, mint, lilac. Medium to long finish with almonds, honey and apricots on custard on the palate.

First introduced by then Ancient Age distillery Master Distiller, Elmer T. Lee, Blanton's was the first single barrel bourbon popularised in the US. Ancient Age was renamed the Buffalo Trace distillery by the Sazerac company in 1999.

Normally a 6 to 8 year old bourbon, it is aged in Warehouse H at Buffalo Trace, which is the only metal-clad warehouse at the distillery, commissioned for construction by Albert B. Blanton, after whom the whiskey is named. The warehouse was built shortly after prohibition and being metal, transfers heat quicker than brick warehouses, allowing for more rapid ageing. This is a 1987 bottling, dumped on the 16th June and matured in barrel #470.
