Though the selection process guarantees a certain degree of batch-by-batch variation, every bottle of Belle Meade Reserve is rich and full-flavored, showing vanilla, caramel, spice, and stone fruits.

Tasting Notes

In the mouth neat, I first notice a significant burn and rye spice. The mouthfeel is somewhat harsh and astringent, and that combined with the heat make specific flavors difficult to pull out. Finishes warm and snappy, a bit watery, and the slightest hint of charcoal.

There are notes of oak, navel oranges, saw dust, and walnuts, with a noticeable heat. Very bright.

The finish, while is smooth and mellow, has hints of dark fruits, including cherries and plums, that are accented by a touch of cinnamon and rye.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
