Bacio Divino's "Pazzo" bottling ("crazy" in Italian) expresses the opulence of Napa Valley in a wine that is meant to drink well at a young age. The winery selects a favorite barrel from various varietals in their cellar and blends them with their best barrels of Sangiovese. The result is a juicy and savory bistro-style red wine that offers a good dose of excitement. The 2012 bottling is 54% Sangiovese with 28% Syrah, 10% Petite Sirah, and 8% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has a nose of blackberry jam and cassis with chocolate spice notes. The palate is a blast of blackberry, dark plum, crème de cassis, licorice and mocha. The wine has a sexy mouthfeel with smooth, sleek tannins and suave finish. Pair this big boy with a filet mignon or wood-fired pizza.
