"The fall season is a big one for new bourbon releases, but it's not too often that one of those releases tastes like fall as well. Abraham Bowman Gingerbread Beer Finished Bourbon tastes like it was made for the fall season, with hints of gingerbread spice, cinnamon and clove. They used Bowman Bourbon barrels that held booze for a solid 8 years before emptying and passing them along to Hardywood Brewery, who then aged their award-winning Gingerbread Stout for 12 weeks. Finally, early in 2013 the barrels came back to Bowman and were filled with the bourbon that you will enjoy, like a crisp fall day, if you're lucky enough to score a limited edition bottle."
This bourbon was aged in a batch of barrels used by A. Smith Bowman Distillery and Hardywood Park Craft Brewery in Virginia. The barrels originated at A. Smith Bowman in 2010, the company says, where they aged bourbon for four and a half years. The barrels were emptied and sent to Hardywood Park Brewery to be filled with two beers: six barrels aged Gingerbread Stout and four barrels aged Foolery Imperial Milk Stout.
Both beers sat inside these barrels for eight months before the barrels were emptied again and sent back to A. Smith Bowman in December 2015. They were then filled with bourbon that had aged for nine years inside of new charred white oak barrels, the company reports. This bourbon was distilled in December of 2006 and was allowed to finish for 17 months inside these barrels.
“This bourbon tastes of ginger, vanilla, and cinnamon topped off with notes of cocoa,” says Master Distiller Brian Prewitt in a press release. “The gingerbread spice aroma gives way to caramel and toasty oak and finishes with a smooth and pleasant finish.”

A wine list from Flask published in the early 1970s
Driving down Ventura Blvd in Studio City in the 1960’s has something in common with today, Flask Fine Wine & Whisky- Flask first opened its doors to the public in 1962. Decades later and it still remains a respected fixture in the Los Angeles community.
We work directly with the wineries, distilleries and breweries to maintain a personal relationship with the creators of some of our favorite products.
We want to know their stories and how they produce bottles that fit into our unique collection. We make a point to keep our selection stocked with a wide variety, offering your classic Napa icons to your natural & organic wines.
We like to think of our whiskey and spirit section as more of a library where the rarest of bottles can be found.
We look forward to helping you find your next favorite bottle!
