2018 Mercana Malbec
The 2018 Mercana Malbec begins with pleasing aromas of black cherry, spice, a touch of vanilla and some floral notes. Taking a sip reveals that this is tasty, savory stuff and a solid example of Malbec. Full of nice dark fruit with a good depth of flavor this medium-bodied wine also has lots of oaky spice leading into the dry, long, grippy finish. Bits of black pepper and tobacco linger. This one is at its best after being open for a couple hours so be sure to give it some time to breathe.
