All of their wines are Estate grown but this selection benefits from all of our vineyard sites; it does, however, consist of a high percentage of the original plantings from 1976 and 1989. Large berries and clusters contribute to its great acidity and depth.

The Estate Vineyard is absolutely gorgeous. In 2018, The Estate has an extra kick of freshness and energy that marries well with the Russian River exuberance that is so typical of these wines. The Estate is the most vibrant and floral of these Chardonnays. It is also a fabulous value in today's world. Once again, Stephen Hansel has turned out a gorgeous set of wines. I consider these to be reference point Pinots and Chardonnays that capture the essence of what the Russian River is all about. In some vintages, the wines can lean towards exuberance, but in 2018, that natural Russian River generosity is tempered by the style of a vintage marked by a cool, long growing season. Hansel's long-standing commitment to making first-class wines and keeping prices exceptionally fair is admirable.
