Vallepicciola Pievasciata Toscana Rosso 2021

Deep ruby red color, with violet nuances. Scents of dark fruit, pleasant balsamic fragrances and spiciy notes. Rich and full mouthfeel.

Pievasciata is a modern, accessible and immediate red wine, obtained from the meeting of French and Tuscan vines. The grapes come from the Vallepicciola vineyards in Pievasciata in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga. The territory is that of the southern Chianti, a stone's throw from Siena; it is made up of hills with clay and limestone soil, very suited to the cultivation of black grapes. The brightness and the temperate climate favor a perfect ripening of the grapes and enhance the fruity character of the wine.

The grapes are harvested at the end of September. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in steel vats at a controlled temperature with a maceration of 7-10 days. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in French barriques and ages in barriques for about 8-10 months.
