Mollydooker The Boxer Shiraz is a desirable red wine, originating from the McLaren Vale wine region of South Australia. It has a deep, inky colour and a complex bouquet with spicy and fruity undertones. The aroma is rich, with notes of blackberry, spices, vanilla, and caramel. On the palate, it is full-bodied, with a velvety texture and robust tannins. The dominant flavours are black fruits such as plum and blackcurrant combined with subtle oak and vanilla. It has a long, luxurious finish and is best enjoyed with hearty meat dishes or rich cheese platters. The Boxer Shiraz is a great choice for those who enjoy bold and structured wines.
Mollydooker Wines is a family estate in the McLaren Vale district of South Australia. It is particularly known for its full-bodied, silky red wines from Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon of which frequently gain high ratings from Wine Spectator and Robert Parker. Mollydooker wines are among the most sought-after in Australia.
The label made its debut in 2006, though owner Sarah Marquis already had extensive experience working in the wine trade. Success came rapidly for Mollydooker; The Wine Advocate rated the first edition of The Boxer Shiraz the best value red wine in the world, with the estate's Two Left Feet Shiraz – Cabernet coming second. Mollydooker's Maitre D' Cabernet Sauvignon came in fourth, and just for good measure The Violinist white wine topped the best value white wine list.
