Mellow Corn Bottled In Bond Corn Whiskey 750ml

Floral and spiced herbal bouquet to the nose, peaking with mint. Silky and oily body of toffee, fruit and light spice finishes with bold apples and a vanilla undertone.

Mellow Corn is produced in accordance with a unique set of regulations that define Straight Corn Whiskey. It is distilled from a mash of at least 80 percent corn and aged for four years in a once-used Bourbon barrel. Compared to the deep amber color created by the newly charred oak barrels in the production of our other Bourbons and American Whiskeys, the result of the used barrel is a lighter, straw-colored spirit. Heaven Hill Distillery is one of the few remaining producers of this unique whiskey.

Tasting Notes

Same as the nose, it’s not very complex and light, but what does come across is pleasant. Vanilla taffy, Juicy Fruit gum and corn lead the way with airy notes of toffee, spice and citrus coming in behind.

An uncomplicated and light aroma, but what’s there is nice. Dominated by notes of vanilla and corn there are some lighter, ethereal notes of spice, citrus, honey and a fruitiness that reminds me of Juicy Fruit gum.

Vanilla, Juicy Fruit gum, marshmallows and corn run it’s course on a medium finish.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
