Mayacamas Merlot remains one of the purest expressions of the varietal produced in America today - always made with restraint to express the more serious side of the grape. In the glass, the nose explodes with macerated raspberries, fresh cherry, green cardamom and anise. Sleek and structured, the palate shows juicy berry, pomegranate, fresh thyme and tarragon. As is typical with this bottling, Mayacamas Merlot generous both in texture and acidity. After fermentation in cement tanks, the 2012 Merlot spent 24 months in neural oak – a combination of large-format foudres and used barrique – before bottling.

Yes, in most cases, the photograph on the product page is of the specific bottle for sale. If we have multiple quantities of the same item, the photo represents the general condition of all bottles under that SKU. Any significant condition issues, such as low ullage or bin-stained labels, will be clearly noted in the product description. We use premium, industry-standard materials to protect every shipment. Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For added peace of mind, we offer shipping protection against loss or damage at checkout through OrderProtection.com.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
