Joseph Carr created Josh Cellars in 2007 as a tribute to his dad, Josh – Joseph’s way of honoring all that his father had done for him. Josh was a lumberjack by trade who also served in the U.S. Army and volunteered as a local firefighter. He worked hard, and instilled values of dedication & perseverance in his children, Joseph and his twin sister, Lisa. These values drove Joseph to create Josh Cellars. Hard work and a commitment to quality ensure that all Josh Cellars wines represent the best of California: they’re well-balanced, delicious and crafted to exacting standards.

Today, Josh Cellars has 11 varietals and a Reserve collection of wines that come from some of California’s most prestigious appellations, the North Coast and Paso Robles. Every vintage represents a labor of love, a commitment to quality, and a very personal promise to make great wine, in honor of Joseph’s father, Josh.

We also acquire bottles from select private collections where clear and documented provenance is provided, ensuring a verifiable history for our finest items.

Yes, in most cases, the photograph on the product page is of the specific bottle for sale. If we have multiple quantities of the same item, the photo represents the general condition of all bottles under that SKU. Any significant condition issues, such as low ullage or bin-stained labels, will be clearly noted in the product description. We are happy to provide additional high-resolution images upon request-please contact us.

We use premium, industry-standard materials to protect every shipment. Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For added peace of mind, we offer shipping protection against loss or damage at checkout through OrderProtection.com.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.

We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. We also offer flexible payment options through Shop Pay Installments and Sezzle. For customers interested in using cryptocurrency, we accept BTC, ETH, XRP, USDC, and more through Coinbase Commerce.

Yes. During periods of extreme heat, we include complimentary ice packs in our insulated shippers. However, to fully protect your investment, we strongly recommend selecting an overnight shipping service in these conditions. We can also hold your shipment at no charge for up to one year upon request.
