Hogue Gewurztraminer 2012
During the grape growing season, eastern Washington boasts warm summer days followed by cool nights, ensuring that grapes ripen fully while retaining ample natural acidity. Gewurz means "spice" in German. True to its name, this Gewürztraminer offers up varietal spiciness, along with intense aromas and flavors of lychee, tangerine, orange, and cream. It has an excellent balance of sweet, rich fruit and crisp acidity, along with a slight minerality. Gewürztraminer is excellent with Southeast Asian dishes.
Serve with coconut milk curries or pork skewers with a peanut-ginger dipping sauce. It also pairs well with sausages and sauerbraten.

The softly floral scents of rose petals and body powder introduce this excellent wine, followed by bright flavors of Meyer lemon and pink grapefruit. The 20 g/L residual sugar is complemented with zippy acids, keeping this well-crafted wine off dry but not sweet.
