Glenmorangie is a famous single malt distillery situated just north of the town of Tain in Ross-shire, in the Highlands of Scotland. It is believed to be named after either Gleann Mór na Sith meaning "vale of tranquility" or Gleann Mór-innse meaning "vale of big meadows" in Gaelic.
Glenmorangie is one of the best-known Scottish distilleries, despite its confusing pronunciation – it is pronounced with an emphasis on the second syllable, rather than on the first and third.
