Artisanal vermouth is the way to go: in the town of Polcenigo, in Friuli, Fred Cremasco employs Verduzzo, a high-quality white wine of Friulia, as his base and infuses his vermouth with 25 different botanicals. The importer tasting note: "Very complex, the refined flavor of herbs and citrus with a beautifully balanced bitterness on the finish. Fred says ‘Thanks to special processing of the herbs, the body has fruity notes that range from red fruits to black cherry; the bitter tones come from the maceration of herbs like gentian root and cinchona bark. Rounded and smooth in the end, thanks to the seeds and roots of angelica. Aftertaste: a persistent bitter note owing to the intensity of wormwood and masterwort, and particularly to juniper berries." Note: This may throw a bit of sediment, a sign of minimal processing and high quality.

Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For added peace of mind, we offer shipping protection against loss or damage at checkout through OrderProtection.com.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
