Frank August’s Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon opens with some beautiful baking spices and notes of mild oak, before picking up a mix of sweet aromatics of vanilla and caramel. 

The baking spices are more pronounced, with cinnamon coming forward initially, before rye spices begin to gradually introduce themselves, warmly coating your mouth. At a 116 proof cask strength, there’s an intensity that is exceptionally balanced by some of the vanilla and caramel notes you initially pick up on the nose.

A long and balanced finish that continues to develop between each taste.  As the cask strength begins to wane, you’ll continue to pick up baking spices and hints of black cherries, layered between subtle notes of oak and vanilla.

Depending on the bottle and destination, we use a combination of insulated foam box inserts, custom-fit air column bags, and heavy-weight cardboard shippers to prevent damage. For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
