Darling Wines Pinot Noir WestPet Sonoma Coast 2022
Mendocino Ridge is an AVA (American Viticultural Area) located in Mendocino County of California. It lies to the west of the Mendocino AVA, with the two partially overlapping in the northeast corner.
Formed in 1997, the AVA sits on a ridge system that extends between Anderson Valley and the Pacific Ocean. It is the only non-contiguous AVA in the US and is the first of its kind in the world – while Mendocino Ridge covers a large area geographically, only viticultural land above an elevation of 1,200 feet (365 metres) above sea level may claim the appellation.

The energy of whole cluster is strong with this truly Burgundian-style Pinot. The nose gives aromas of earthy sage, Darjeeling tea, and cherry skin, while the palate displays spicy Bing cherry, clove and orange peel flavors in a middle weight, but richly tannic frame. The finish morphs into a lingering whisper of pithy orange peel. Perfect for roasted gamebirds or richer pork dishes.
