Opaque, purple/red color holds to the rim. Aromas are restrained, brooding & savory. At first, the palate is closed with plenty of very fine, drying oak tannins. There is also a wonderful fresh acidity & balanced alcohol. As the wine opens ripe, rounded fruit shows itself, balancing the monumental tannins. The finish is long rich & wonderfully supple. The wine is slow to open but is worth waiting for. Those prepared to age it will see a fabulous return for their patience.
