Founded in 1879, Aberlour Distillery is located in the heart of Speyside. Their Single Malt Whiskies have won a decent amount of awards at International Spirit Competitions throughout the years and offer an interesting range including Single and Double Casks. Double Matured - in American Oak and Sherry Oak Casks, the Aberlour 12-Year-Old has 40% ABV and a well-rounded feel to it.

The stunning and longtime popular Aberlour 12-Year-Old, seasoned in both sherry cask and traditional oak, now packed at 40% above.

The entrance to double cask maturation, Aberlour 12-year-old double cask mellowed has composed notes of spices and fruits. It has unique elements like golden amber with a dash of ruby red, soft and smoothed with a fruity touch of red apples.

Sherried elements and the fruity aromas are complemented with a richness of toffee, chocolate, cinnamon, and ginger spices—Aberlour 12 yrs old lingering as well as warming with amazing smoky notes along with the mild pepperiness. The fragrance is like sweet pear apples and the mild sherry fruits, just like plums and the touch of raisins. It has a lip-smacking “juicy fruit” perfume. 

The finish of the product is medium as it is balanced, not sweet, which also reminds us about the exhausted juicy flavored gum once all the juiciness has been taken out. A dash of cloves perseveres to the end. It has won many double and single Gold Medals in San Francisco and many more even in the past years.

Tasting Notes

Big sweet butter hit, with maple syrup, brown sugar, plump raisins, nutmeg, milk chocolate and more of the char from the nose.

Buttery cinnamon toast, concentrated raisin in the background, astringent woody touches, glacé cherry, barrel char.

Medium length, with chocolate, raisins and more char.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
