This special cuvee, made for the proprietor of the Campanile Restaurant in southern California at Michael Havens Wine Cellars in Napa, is in very limited availability (272 cases). It offers both a smashing package (a heavy, expensive bottle and a poster-quality, artsy label) and terrific wine. Nearly opaque purple-colored, it possesses gobs of pure, persuasive, and intense blackberry and cassis fruit. Full-bodied, with a voluptuously-textured, rich, layered feel in the mouth, this large-scaled, impressively-endowed tribute to such French Syrah/Cabernet blends as the renowned Domaine Trevallon in Provence, can be drunk now or cellared for 10-12 years.
