A Macallan 18 year old exclusively matured in the finest Sherry oak casks from a 1979 distillation and originally released in 1997 for the US market.

When Macallan took over their bottling in 1980, they toyed for a few releases with more advanced age-statements of 17 and 18 years old. The 18 was deemed the optimum maturation, and the official 18 year old was launched in 1984. It is now an absolute classic of the whisky world.

A full-bodied palate of mature oak, ginger, and raisin flavors is complemented by a light mahogany natural color."

Light mahogany. Dried fruits and ginger with hints of vanilla and cinnamon. Soft and rich, with hints of spice, clove, orange and toasted mature oak. Lingering with dried fruits, ginger and orange zest.

Outstanding, complex Single Malt, matured at The Macallan distillery for a minimum of 18 years in selected Sherry oak casks from Spain. Rich palate of dried fruits, spice, orange and wood smoke. Full-bodied, lingering, smooth, elegant and aromatic finish.

For wine, we recommend storing bottles on their side in a dark, vibration-free environment with good humidity, ideally between 55-60°F. Spirits like whiskey should be stored upright in a cool, dark place (60-70°F) away from direct sunlight to preserve their quality.
