Description

Patria Avoyelles Oakville Ranch Red 2019

Powerful aromas of violets, lilac and rosehips are followed by secondary aromas of herbs, black olive, cedar box, and classic Oakville east iron filings. Wonderful natural acidity balances flavors of blackberry pots de crème, fresh raspberry, soy, pipe tobacco and cedar. Tannins are lush but finish with a bit of dust. Deserves a decant if opening soon, and will easily last 10-15 years.

Cépage: 55% Cabernet Franc, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot

Critical Acclaim

100 Jeb Dunnuck

The 2019 Avoyelles Oakville Ranch checks in as 55% Cabernet Franc, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 5% Petit Verdot, all from the Oakville Ranch Vineyard and aged 22 months in French oak. It has an insanely good bouquet of chocolaty red and black fruits, dried herbs, chocolate, and obvious minerality as well as full-bodied richness and depth on the palate. Complex, layered, multi-dimensional, and perfectly balanced, it's an incredible Cabernet Franc-dominated blend that will benefit from just a handful of years in the cellar and keep for 15-20 years. Best After 2025.

97 Wine Advocate

The 2019 Oakville Ranch Avoyelles is composed of 55% Cabernet Franc, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it offers up fragrant scents of cherry pie, blackberry preserves and mulberries with hints of violets, pencil lead, cedar and a touch of iron ore. The powerful, full-bodied palate (15.2% alcohol) has a solid structure of the firm, grainy tannins and bold freshness supporting the generous black fruits, finishing long and minerally. 195 cases were made.

93 Vinous

The 2019 Avoyelles, Tony Biagi's Cabernet Franc/Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Oakville Ranch, shows good depth, but in the understated style of the 2019s here. The tannins are pretty imposing at this stage, but then again, that is Oakville Ranch. Inky dark fruit, mocha, spice and new leather emerge, and yet I don's see the explosive energy of the best editions.

Driving down Ventura Blvd in Studio City in the 1960’s has something in common with today, Flask Fine Wine & Whisky- Flask first opened its doors to the public in 1962. Decades later and it still remains a respected fixture in the Los Angeles community.

We work directly with the wineries, distilleries and breweries to maintain a personal relationship with the creators of some of our favorite products.

We want to know their stories and how they produce bottles that fit into our unique collection. We make a point to keep our selection stocked with a wide variety, offering your classic Napa icons to your natural & organic wines.

We like to think of our whiskey and spirit section as more of a library where the rarest of bottles can be found.

We look forward to helping you find your next favorite bottle!
