CVNE

View Full Description [+ Read More]

CVNE, short for Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España, is a family-founded winery established in 1879 and based in Haro, in the heart of Rioja Alta. The house works primarily with Tempranillo, Graciano, and Garnacha, aging its wines in a combination of American and French oak barrels. The Cune Rioja Gran Reserva 2018 represents the estate's traditional approach to extended oak and bottle aging, while the Imperial Rioja Reserva 2019 draws from older vineyards in Rioja Alta. The Contino Graciano Rioja 2012 highlights single-varietal Graciano from a single-estate vineyard. Viña Real Gran Reserva expressions, including the 1964 and 1976 vintages, sit among the most historically significant in the CVNE portfolio, separating the estate's library releases from the more current Cune and Imperial range.
