Clynelish is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky distillery located in Brora, Sutherland, on Scotland's northeastern coast, producing a waxy, coastal style that has made it a benchmark for the region. The distillery's core expression, the Clynelish 14 Year Old, is matured in ex-bourbon casks and defines the house character of beeswax, sea salt, and stone fruit. Annual Special Releases have included the 10 Year Old bottled at 115 proof and the 12 Year Old, both departing from standard maturation to highlight different cask influences. Independent bottlers have also drawn from the warehouse, with the Signatory 1995 22 Year Old finished in a refill sherry cask and the Cadenhead's 1982 12 Year Old bottled at cask strength 64.2%. The 1997 Distillers Edition and the 21 Year Old Art of Whisky Distilling expression represent the distillery's older, more complex tier.
