Chateau Mouton Rothschild is a premier cru classé winery located in Pauillac, on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, producing red wine from a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon alongside Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Grapes are harvested from 84 hectares of gravel-rich soils, then aged in new French oak barrique for approximately 18 to 22 months before bottling. Mouton Rothschild 1959 and Mouton Rothschild 1982 represent two of the most celebrated vintages in the estate's history, each regarded as benchmark expressions of Pauillac.
