Château de la Maltroye is located in Chassagne-Montrachet. In the middle of the beautiful landscape of the Côte de Beaune. The Château stands out from afar because of its glazed roof tiles. It dates back to the 15th century. It was rebuilt in the 18th century. The old cellar was retained and still serves as a wine storage facility today. The vines are found on the hills behind the château. In the first years, the château's wines were produced by Marcel Picard and his brother. In 1993, Jean-Pierre Cournut took over the management. Jean-Pierre Cournut has completely revitalized both the vineyard and the winery to produce wines worthy of the estate's remarkable legacy.

Château de la Maltroye is a wine producer based in Chassagne-Montrachet , in the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy 's principle winegrowing area, the Côte d'Or. The château produces a range of wines, both red (from Pinot Noir ) and white (mainly Chardonnay ), from vineyards both in Chassagne-Montrachet itself and neighboring appellations.
