Egly Ouriet
View Full Description [+ Read More]
Egly-Ouriet is a grower Champagne house based in Ambonnay, a Grand Cru village in the Montagne de Reims, producing exclusively extra brut and zero-dosage wines from estate-grown Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Fermentation takes place in oak barrels with extended lees aging across the range, from the entry-level Les Premices NV through to the VP Vieillissement Prolonge Grand Cru Extra Brut, which undergoes significantly longer post-disgorgement rest. The Grand Cru Millesime bottlings from 2008, 2015, and 2016 represent single-vintage expressions, while Les Vignes de Bisseuil draws from a Premier Cru lieu-dit outside Ambonnay. The Ratafia Champenois is a regional mistelle produced from unfermented grape juice fortified with grape spirit, distinct from the house's sparkling range.
