Penderyn USA Limited Release #1 Single Malt Welsh Whisky

Established in 2000 by four private individuals and in 2004 the first new Welsh single malt whisky for more than a hundred years was released. The stills at Penderyn situated in the Brecon Beacons differ from Scotland and Ireland which practice double or triple distillation as they have more gin-like stills designed by David Faraday and practice a single distillation process resulting in a lighter and creamier spirit. Expanded in 2013 to keep up with the high demand and increased production from 90,000 liters per year to 300,000. The core releases are ex-bourbon and Madeira cask matured. Also look out for the limited releases based on Welsh icons and a peated cask, sherry cask and port cask edition. The easy-drinking nature of the malt whisky as well as the distillery center which attracts 35,000 visitors a year is a testament to how people have come to love this Welsh wonder.
