Smell with warm cinnamon, nutmeg, green tea, and baking spice. It’s just a great rye whiskey smell. Nice punch of whisky. Nice and dry across the palate, with a texture that clings to the teeth. It gives way to lemon zest and rye berries with honey accompaniment. I found some subtle hints of vanilla and dark sugar. This one has some nice complexity, but you can pick the notes apart with patience. The finish was lovely; warm and spicy with deep, dry oak. Despite the high ABV it doesn’t have a harsh warming sensation.
