2013 Jean Noel Gagnard Les Chaumes Chassagne Montrachet Premier Cru
Domaine Jean-Noël Gagnard is a Burgundy wine producer based in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet in the Côte de Beaune. It produces a single grand cru wine made from Chardonnay from a 0.4 hectare (one acre) holding in the Bâtard-Montrachet vineyard, as well as a large number of (predominantly white) premier cru wines from vineyard holdings across Chassagne-Montrachet and Santenay.
Les Chaumées is a well-regarded Premier Cru vineyard at the top of the slope in Chassagne-Montrachet. It is planted to both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, but it is the white wines carrying this designation that attract the most attention and are the more critically well-received.

The 2013 Chassagne-Montrachet les Chaumes has a light peach and dried honey-scented bouquet that just needs a little more delineation. The palate has a very waxy texture and a keen line of acidity, veins of walnut and hazelnut lending this Chassagne a more Meursault-like personality.
